Exquisite craftsmanship and functional elegance are combined to create the G.D.L. banjo. As on the Ivanhoe, patience and care go into cutting the many strips of multicolored abalone shell which are inlaid along side the ivoroid binding, trimming the figured walnut neck and burl walnut resonator. Intricate abalone and mother-of-pearl inlays adorn the ebony fingerboard and peghead. As on the Ivanhoe, the peghead is bound with white, black/white stripes on the face and side; we call this triple bound.

The G.D.L. features the original Deering bell bronze tone ring and zinc flange construction, all metal parts are nickel plated. Walnut gives you the blend of crisp clear tone with a beautiful touch of sweetness everybody enjoys.
