Deering Banjos Featured on “Made In America”

The Deering Banjo Company crafts American made banjos hence what better TV show than John Ratzenberger’s “Made In America” to feature the number one banjo manufacturer in North America! On December 6th,2005,  the filming crew and host, John Ratzenberger, came to the Spring Valley, California factory location to film Janet and Greg Deering and find out how it all began back in 1975. John chose to feature Deering Banjos on his Tuesday night Travel Channel series because of their contribution to our culture of American-made products, the unique nature of their business, and their economic impact on the community.  Jens Kruger of the Kruger Brothers was on hand to demonstrate, as only he can do, the broad range of Deering Banjo models from tenor to plectrum to 5-string banjos…sharing the full spectrum of resonant sound and complex harmonics that are hallmarks of Deering’s quality banjos. World-renowned artist John McEuen .founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, made a special visit to the factory to share with “Made In America” his strong support of Deering Banjos, play the extensive banjo selection in their showroom and voice his praises of their products.  Look for this exciting show airing on the Travel Channel sometime in Spring of 2006.

“Made in America” airs at 9:00 PM on the Travel Channel and celebrates the people, places, and products that are uniquely American. John honors the men and women who work with their hands and skillfully make the products that are the backbone of the American economy. Deering Banjos has always prided itself on supporting American suppliers and workmen. They are one of the roughly 40 manufacturing facilities that the program will visit throughout the country this year.  Season 3 of “Made in America” will premiere December 6th, 2005.
