“Now everyone can have a Goodtime!” says Barry Hunn, worldwide
sales manager for the Deering Banjo Company. With the addition of the Tenor
Goodtime banjo, the ever popular, easy to play, American-made quality rock maple
Goodtime banjo line now has 13 models for customers to choose from. The Deering
Banjo Company added the Tenor to its Goodtime line in response to customer requests.
The new Tenor Goodtime is available in openback and resonator models, with and
without tonerings, and in an extremely affordable openback acoustic/electric.
The Goodtime Tenor models will be available in the same $299 to $615 price range
as the other members of the Goodtime line. Left-handed models and the openback
acoustic/electric have been popular additions to the original lineup of openback
and resonator models, with and without tonerings. Customers can buy the entire
“baker’s dozen” Goodtime line at a dealer in their area.
Deering’s American-made Goodtime banjos are well known for their ease
of playability, sparkling tone, light weight, and affordability! With the addition
of the Tenor model, banjoists will be able to play a wider variety of music
than ever before. Popularly used for Irish music and jazz, the tenor banjo is
also ideal for young children because of the shorter scaled neck. Deering’s
tenor Goodtime banjo is 19-frets, making it 3 inches shorter than the standard
22-fret 5-string models. The neck is narrower all the way up making it easier
for smaller hands to play.
