Deering Banjo Company Creates 3 Free Workshops for Dealers

Want to learn to play the banjo in less than 10 minutes? Want to learn the basics of banjo setup? Want to see how the banjo reflects the history of our nation both in style and song? Then you should attend all three of the free new banjo workshops created by the Deering Banjo Company for their dealers! Deering Banjos believes strongly in supporting their dealer base. With this in mind, Lawson Peets, Deering’s Director of Market Expansion, is traveling to Deering dealers throughout the country presenting “Banjo Magic,” “Banjo Mania,” and the “Banjo Maintenance Workshop.” Free to the dealers, their staff, and all customers, this is another way to offer a hands-on opportunity for people interested in banjo or help out those already playing the banjo to get the most out of their instrument.

“Banjo Mania” and “Banjo Magic” are fun workshops for the whole family. Lawson Peets brings with him a large variety of Deering, Vega, and Goodtime banjos. Attendees will get to hear him play the various models of banjos in bluegrass and Clawhammer styling. They are given an understanding of how the banjo, America’s own instrument, and the music played on it reflect the growth of our nation. The “never played a banjo before band” is part of the “Banjo Mania” workshop and all participants will get a chance to try their own hand at playing the banjo!

The Banjo Maintenance Workshop teaches the basics of banjo setup. Lawson covers head tension, strings, tailpiece tension, bridge placement, etc. Many individuals, who already own a banjo, or even those who are curious about what it would take to maintain a banjo, will find this a valuable and interesting free workshop.

Staff in-house training sessions are also available through Lawson Peets. The customer and the dealership will benefit by this staff training session. Having access to this kind of expertise on the banjo is often difficult. By coming directly to the dealer and working around his store hours, the dealer can enlighten his staff without losing valuable sales time. Dealers can call him at 619-933-3994 to book any of the workshops or valuable staff training sessions.
