Deering Banjo Company has chosen Zenith Music in Perth, Australia, as the exclusive
national distributor of their American-made banjos in Australia. Expansion into
the foreign market is a primary focus for Deering Banjos. An increased demand
for banjos worldwide plus a strong interest in bluegrass music in his country
prompted owner Lionel Cranfield of Zenith to approach Deering Banjos for distributor
status. Zenith Music was established in 1969 and has been a part of the Deering
dealer base since 1993. Recognizing the need to make it easier for overseas
customers to get banjos more quickly, Deering Banjo Company will be seeking
further opportunities to add other foreign distributors to carry a full range
of their high quality, American-made banjos.
In Western Australia, Zenith Music is a household name. Their Zenith Music Imports
division is the national distributor for Martin Guitars, Hofner German-made
violins, Kamaka Ukuleles of Hawaii, among others. Lionel approached the Deering
Banjo Company at the 2005 Anaheim NAMM show. His goal is to educate his Australian
customers by introducing them to a higher quality acoustic banjo than they have
previously had an opportunity to play. Each of his stores will carry Deering’s
full range of banjos from the very popular rock maple Goodtime banjos through
to their latest Tenbrooks line with the new Jens Kruger tonering from Switzerland.
All Australian inquiries will be directed to Zenith Music and Internet browsers
can find Zenith’s web site in the international listings on the Deering
Banjo Company web site, www.Deeringbanjos.com.
