Chad, I appreciate your instructional videos. I have a 26 year old Deering Deluxe. Just getting the opportunity to give it the time it needs/deserves. Bought the new string package with winder and the blue neck support. I must have older tuners, as the winder will not fit onto the tuners. not really a problem, but my question is, is there a benefit to changing the tuners and is it difficult. I could not find a video referencing changing tuners. Thanks for your help.

Very good clear instructions all the way through.

Is there a tuner that you can recommend which will pick up the G# head note when tapped?
I have several different brands of tuners which attach to the head stock and a Korg AT1 “shop” tuner, but none of them are quick enough to pick up the brief note of the head when tapped.
I’ve also tried humming the note emitted (for sustain), but that still is rather imprecise.
Yes, I am quite anal about such things!
(hello to you Greg and Janet; I am a Trio Fantasy Camp regular and see you every August!)
    Thanks.
    With my regards,

Despite having played banjos for many years I picked up some very interesting techniques which I will use for future setups.

    Great video – thanks.
