Top Frosted Banjo Head
$30.00This is the most popular head made for a 5-string banjo. It is crisp, bright with good snap, not too much sustain, good clarity and note distinction. -
Bottom Frosted Banjo Head
$30.00This head is very popular with tenor and plectrum banjoists because the smooth outer surface is quieter when strumming. The head has good bass response and sustains more. Learn More -
Black Banjo Head
$30.00Strikingly different, this head is somewhat mellow in tone with long sustain, lots of low frequency response (bass) and not as crisp as a clear or bottom frosted head. More sustain than the fiberskyn and not plunky at all. Learn More -

“This Machine Surrounds Hate and Forces it to Surrender” Banjo Head
$69.50These custom heads are available with this very special design which is similar to the design on the banjo head Pete Seeger has performed with all around the world for many years.
The head is made of a smooth white mylar and printed in beautiful color by Remo’s custom head designs.
The printing is designed so that the Deering logo is positioned under the tailpiece and the lettering can be read when played right handed. On Left Handed banjos the Deering logo can be installed by the neck so that the lettering can be read when it is played.
The proceeds above our cost will go to Pete Seeger in gratitude for the many years of great folk music he has given to the world. Pete Seeger is in no way or fashion endorsing this banjo head. Greg Deering has taken it upon himself to do this project for the benefit of Pete Seeger with no strings attached.
Some of the organizations Pete Seeger supports are the Hudson River Clearwater Revival, which has made great headway cleaning up the water of the Hudson River, and Sing Out Magazine. Own a piece of this great folk movement toward building a better life together through music.
