The resonator is what we call the back of the banjo. It is a wooden, circular concave back that is designed to help the player project the sound of the banjo forward to the audience. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for gluing and molding the plys, before gluing to the resonator sides, adding binding and preparing for finish. 

Daily quotas, detailing needs of specifications will be expected to be met, ensuring that we succeed as a team to meet our company wide goals. 

This is a great entry-level role for anyone looking to start a career in manufacturing, particularly in musical instruments.

Job Location & Hours
100% of job duties are carried out at Deering Banjo Company, 3733 Kenora Dr, Spring Valley, CA91942

We are located in Spring Valley, just 10 miles East of downtown San Diego at Highway 94 and Kenwood Drive.  

Production hours would be 6:30 am - 3:30 pm.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Glue and mold back veneers, per model specification
• Glue back to resonator sides
• Cut binding slots and install binding per model specification
• Trim and scrape binding
• Hand sand/prepare for finish
• Additional similar duties as required.

• Attend all safety and production training/meetings
• Able to work five 8-hour shifts, Monday throught Friday.

Machinery & Physical Requirements

• Sitting: 0%
• Standing: 100%
• Bending: Occasionally
• Lifting Requirements (lb and frequency): 40lb approx
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (Strong core)

This role utilizes the use of commercial grade machinery including:

• Commercial sandblast cabinet and media
• Ovens
• Powder Coat Guns

Pay Range: $17-$20ph depending on experience.
