Upperline Final Assembly

Deering Banjo Company is hiring for the position of Upperline Final Assembly. This position is responsible for the assembly and set up for all of our Upperline models, in preparation for shipping. All instruments must be impeccably set up, with attention being paid to the finest detail, according to factory and model specifications. As the world's largest manufacturer of American Made banjos, we take a great deal of pride in the quality of our instruments. And as a family-owned and operated company with a small and wonderful team, we strive to make sure our customers get only the best banjos in the world.

Duties include:

  • Assembly of neck, pot and resonators
  • Buffing and polishing final product
  • String up, setting action and intonation
  • Setting head tension
  • All aspects related to final assembly of finished banjo.
Experience with the assembly, repair, or set up of stringed, fretted instruments is a must. As is a high level of attention to detail, both visually and with using measurement instruments. Experience in woodwork and using basic hand tools, particularly those commonly used for stringed instrument set up is a must. The successful candidate will also have a great attitude and a willingness to helping the entire team succeed.

Production hours would be 6:30 am - 3:30 pm and we look for honest, dedicated people looking to help create our fine musical instruments. If you feel you are a good fit, please apply. We would love to hear from you!

Production Team Applications

Deering Banjo Company is always on the lookout for new talent to grow its production team. Right now, we are looking for applicants with skills for fast-paced production work.

As the world's largest manufacturer of American Made banjos, we take a great deal of pride in the quality of our instruments.  And as a family owned and operated company with a small and wonderful team we strive to make sure our customers get only the best banjos in the world.

Duties could include any of the following areas:

  • Basic CNC Operation
  • Wood Milling
  • Glue Up
  • Sanding
  • Assembly and string up
Attention to detail and a great attitude to helping the entire team succeed are a must. Experience in woodwork, as well as any experience with commercial tools, is a plus.


Production hours would be 6:30 am - 3:30 pm and we look for honest, dedicated people looking to help create our fine musical instruments.

Working at Deering during Covid-19
