Greg Deering & Bob Taylor: A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Friendship | TAS Knows People Podcast
If you were fortunate enough to have been in Chicago a few weeks ago, you may have been attending the annual Fretboard Summit conference at the Old Town School of Folk Music - a three-day guitar extravaganza, featuring custom builds from over 50 manufacturers, concerts, panels...and of course we had to bring a few banjos!
And where there is any kind of guitar conference, you can surely expect to find John, Jason, and Jeremy Chapman of The Acoustic Shoppe in Springfield, MO, roaming the halls. The trio, who have built a stellar reputation for bringing first-class content to their growing audience, has arranged a very special and open conversation with Greg Deering and Bob Taylor of Taylor Guitars, stemming from the early days at the American Dream, all the way through to the present day.
We have heard these stories many times over the years, but it was great to hear them together on a really fun trip down memory lane. The chemistry between these two lifelong friends was perfect as both traded stories of decades of building their respective businesses.
Greg, who was accompanied by his wife Janet, and Jens Kruger were attending the show to display a new project he has been working on (more on that soon). He also brought with him the incredible Vega "Nemo" Long Neck and Deering Cutty Sark banjos, both of which received a lot of attention.
This is a really good watch and is also available on Spotify and wherever you get you podcasts!
That was so fun!!! Thanks so much for sharing that interesting and enjoyable chat.🤗

Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting on trades, made in America. I love it. Glenn
You need to clean up the spelling & punctuation of your sub-titles- sorry to maybe sound fussy, I know it won’t improve your banjos or their tone,

Hi Paul, pretty sure these are auto generated by YouTube and sadly they are not always perfect. I believe this is a setting that can be turned off in YouTube also.
