Becca Smith is the frontwoman of the award-winning Folk/Americana act Admiral Radio. She has been singin’ since the cradle and began writing songs not too long after, finding inspiration anywhere from The Beatles to Shania Twain. She has received multiple songwriting awards both solo and as Admiral Radio and has shared the stage with acts like bluegrass legend Del McCoury, folk/fock sensation Judah & the Lion, virtuosic instrumentalist and folkgrass icon Molly Tuttle, and more. Smith was recently chosen to perform her song “Slow Lane” at the 2024 IBMA Songwriter Showcase and has been recognized both nationally and internationally for several songs on the duo’s newest album “Good Things Take Time” which American Songwriter says “has the power to help and heal. Becca plays the Classic Goodtime banjo with a Kavanjo Pick-up.
Becca has recently joined forces with the Marshgrass Mamas, a supergroup of “musical gals” hailing from Johns Island, SC. In the Mamas, led by Cary Ann Hearst of Shovels & Rope, Becca holds down the fivestring alongside fellow picker Dee Payne.
