Q&A

Would you suggest I put the 'light' Deering strings on my Boston Deering Banjo?
The light gauge strings are great for the Boston.
What's a parlor banjo? By long-neck do you mean the "Seeger" extra frets neck?
Parlor banjo is 19 fret, 5 strings, scale 23" Long neck is 25 frets, 5 strings, 32 7/64" Standard 22 fret 5 string, 26 1/4" scale
What string set (or sets) do you recommend for an older (1981) Deluxe?
If you like a brighter tone and have a modest to light banjo style of playing, use the light gauge string set.
Hi there, I have an older long neck banjo that I need strings for. They need to be about 44 inches long. Will these strings do the job? Can you ship to NZ? Thanks
Our Deering strings are long enough. You may choose light or mediums and they will work. :-)
Are these Deering light gauge strings the ones that ship from Deering for the Sierra and Goodtime 2 banjos?
Yes...we ship most of the banjos out with our light gauge and both of these use that set.
what strings do you recommend for the Goodtime Banjo, and how often should they be changed?
Light gauge only. Changing out depends on how often you play; strings loose their flexibility. You should change every 3 months minimum or more often if you play a lot.
which strings come on the good time open back?
Light gauge...10,11,13,21w,10.
