Clawhammer Style Banjo Book by Ken Perlman
"This is a super book! It teaches techniques from easy to complex in a friendly, musically-savvy way, and provides a ton of playable, complete arrangements of lots of tunes to build your repertoire with! Bravo, Ken! And it reached me quickly via the economical Fedex International expedited delivery — from California to Ontario in 3 days! Thanks, Deering!"

Clawhammer Banjo Technique Book
"Thorough introduction to the subject and techniques, plus excellent old time songs to learn to play. My only expectation missed, as one who can read music, that does not explain the notes on the instrument, and compare to the tab. That would make the book more friendly to other instruments, of which I play several. It’s still a very good book."

Happy with the "Clawhammer Style Banjo" Book
"After buying the Clawhammer Style Banjo Book I waited until using it a bit before reviewing it. It appears to be a very pragmatic, step-by-step approach to learning Clawhammer Banjo. So far it has been easy to follow and implement as a way to learn. It probably will not be as good as having a real, live teacher, but at the same time it seems to be good enough that if you follow the instructions you should be able to pick up Clawhammer banjo. The only thing I have found that seems a little off is really rather insignificant. All of my other resources define "fret" as the wire on the fingerboard, while this author defines it as the space between the wires. I have no idea which is correct, but the results are the same either way in terms of finger placement. I would feel very confident in getting other books by this author. He seems to be knowledgeable in his field and offers many useful tips to help learn to play the banjo."

Best Clawhammer Book I have found.
"I'm just getting into it, but so far this is the clearest, most helpful book about clawhammer banjo I have seen. Without getting too hung up on any one aspect, this book walks you through the steps and gets you playing. Really good book if you have already tried some online videos and are looking to put it all together or just looking to get started with clawhammer."
