This 1992 Ivanhoe is part of Deering history. And now it's available for you to own!

It is the seventh Ivanhoe that we ever made and bears the serial number "04792 2004". This would denote that it was made in April of 1992 and was the seventh of this particular model made. 2004 refers to the neck number stamped into the rear of the peghead.

At this time in Deering's history, Greg Deering was very much hands on in the production team and he was personally responsible for the stunning heel carving on this particular banjo.

Also note worthy is the address on the serial number sticker, which reads "Lemon Grove". A reference to the small shop that Deering had next door to an early Taylor Guitars, on Leicester Ave, just a few miles from the current Deering facility in Spring Valley.

The stunning engraving work on the gold plated hardware was hand done by Al Gabriella, the namesake of the Gabriella model banjo and one of the finest engravers in the country.

The back of the resonator is a stunning one piece California walnut burl, accented with multi ply binding and abalone purfling. Meanwhile, the neck is an expertly book matched flamed English walnut, with a maple stripe running down the center. The banjo is finished in a classic Nitro Cellulose lacquer.

Unfortunately, the original tailpiece broke, and so has been replaced. The head has been replaced with a Deering top frosted head and the bridge has been replaced with a Deering 5/8" Smile Bridge.

This beautiful banjo is a true one of a kind.
