Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Katie Rox is one-fourth of the Canadian all-female country band Nice Horse. After getting her start as the lead singer for JUNO Award-winning band Jakalope (co-produced by Trent Reznor), she built a strong career as a vocalist and acoustic guitar player and has released four full-length albums as a solo artist. A core founding member of Nice Horse, Katie picked up the 5-string banjo shortly after the group formed. Her first banjo was a Deering, and she’s been hooked ever since!
Katie and her three bandmates in Nice Horse have garnered nation-wide attention since coming together in 2016. They are two-time Canadian Country Music Award nominees, and won “Group of the Year” and “Video of the Year” at the 2018 Alberta Country Music Awards. The band has performed at high-profile festivals across Canada and abroad, including Boots & Hearts, the Calgary Stampede, Big Valley Jamboree, and appearances in Europe. They have also toured as direct support for globally acclaimed artists such as Tom Cochrane and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. For more about Katie and Nice Horse, visit www.nicehorsemusic.com
