Deering Extends Goodtime Banjo Warranty to 8 Years

As Deering Banjo Company approaches the end of its 50th Anniversary in 2025, we look forward to 2026, which marks the 30th anniversary of the hugely successful Goodtime Banjo.

To kick off the celebrations early, we’re proud to announce a change that reflects our continued commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and our loyal players:

The Deering Goodtime Banjo Series will now include an 8-Year Warranty!

Who Will Receive the Extended Warranty?

This new 8-Year Warranty applies to any Deering Goodtime Banjo made on or after January 1st, 2025 - the start of our milestone 50th year in business.

To confirm whether your banjo qualifies, simply check your serial number — each Goodtime banjo’s serial number includes the date of manufacture, making it easy to verify when your instrument was made.

010125-001 is the first serial number that will qualify for the extended 8-year warranty. The first 6 digits represent the date of manufacture.

Why Extend the Warranty?

At Deering, we’ve spent five decades perfecting the art of banjo building. Our Goodtime Series has become a cornerstone of that legacy — a line designed to be lightweight, affordable, and built to last.

Extending the warranty from 6 years to 8 years isn’t just symbolic; it reflects the ongoing confidence we have in our materials, processes, and the skilled team that builds every Goodtime by hand in our California facility.

What’s Covered?

The 8-Year Warranty continues to protect against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This ensures your Goodtime will continue to sound, play, and perform beautifully for years - whether you’re picking on the porch or performing on stage.

(Full warranty terms and registration details can be found on our Warranty Page).

Built to Last, Backed with Confidence

From the first Goodtime Openback to the current lineup — including the Goodtime Two, Goodtime Americana, and Artisan models — the Goodtime Series has become a trusted favorite for players around the world.

Now, with an extended warranty to match its proven reliability, there’s never been a better time to join the Deering family.

Good Times Ahead

As we celebrate 50 years of banjo building, we’re looking forward to more music, more players, and more reasons to pick up a Goodtime.

With the new 8-Year Warranty, you can play with confidence, knowing your banjo is backed by the same craftsmanship and care that’s defined Deering since 1975.

I have both a Deering Sierra resonator banjo and a a Deering Goodtime open back banjo and I love them both. Their quality and craftsmanship are excellent and they play very well and really stay in great tone. They sound good even though I’m not very good ! Sometime I would love to tour the Deering manufacturing plant. I’ve watched videos on the plant also. I am also proud to say “ Made in America. Way to go Mr Deering and all your craftsman ( and women!) and employees. You to should be very proud of the quality of your work. 🙂👍Glenn Gailis MD, Klamath Falls, Oregon. PS. Bring back quality and craftsmanship to all of Americas manufacturing just like Mr. Deering has done with banjos!
