If you haven't heard Nora Brown, then be sure to take a listen to her this week on Deering Live. Nora is only 15 years old but she is an old soul who plays old time banjo with an incredible feel. Nora started learning music at the age of 6, specializing in old-time and traditional banjo music. She plays with a level of confidence rarely found in most adults, all the while weaving together stories of music history into her performances to create a beautifully rich tapestry for the listener. She has played at numerous venues and festivals on the East Coast and has been featured on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts and TED Talks.
Deering is proud to team up with @royerlabs and @compassrecords to bring you five informative videos featuring Alison Brown and Stuart Duncan that will give you the foundation you need to get the best sound out of your banjo. Whether you are using a USB mic, have a basic home studio set up, or you find yourself in a professional studio setting, many, if not all of the principles will apply and will give you a great starting point in recording your banjo.
This week we begin our 5th course of the Masterclass with Jens Kruger. This week we will be covering musical structure and chord movements.
