Andy Rogers | The Wilder Blue
Andy Rogers is a founding member of the Texas based Americana band “The Wilder Blue.” An accomplished banjo player, he is also a multi instrumentalist comfortable in a wide range of styles, including jazz, country, western swing, old time and of course bluegrass.
Born in Lebanon, TN to a musical family he grew up playing bluegrass and country music in the Nashville area before studying jazz bass at the University of North Texas. After his stint in school he met Zane Williams and toured as his bassist for several years. He, Zane, Paul Eason, Lyndon Hughes and Sean Rodriguez then founded The Wilder Blue, a band known for their tight harmonies and creative approach to a classic style. As part of this group he is able to explore more contemporary banjo playing while also staying true to his bluegrass roots. You can see Andy with the band currently touring in support of their third album “Super Natural”
