Part 1: An Introduction to Clawhammer.
Excellent tuition! I am in my 80’s and have just purchased a Feeling Banjo, started 4 years ago with a Ukulele. Unfortunately I have hurt my plucking hand hopefully it will get better soon! So I will spend time practising claw hammer without changing chords! Cheers
I learned more in this episode of instruction of claw hammer than anybody I’ve heard so far. Loved it. says Judy Corrette in Wildwood, Fl

This is the BEST instructor and the BEST instruction on claw hammer that I have ever seen. It is explained very clearly and at a pace that I can do right now where I’m at with it. Other instructors and books go too fast and I get lost. do you have any instruction books on beginning claw hammer ?? tableture on claw hammer doesn’t make any sense and doesn’t evern sound like the song I’m trying to play , for example ; the Wildwood Flower . I have found my own way to play it going slow on claw hammer and it sou9nds like the song. How about that?? I hope you can help me. says Judy Corrette
Man, I have been teaching orchestra for many years now, just saw a banjo from the jazz band seating there with dust (A Goodtime Artesan) started to full around and felt in love with it, just ordered a banjo from you guys and can’t wait to have my home next week, anyway, you inspired me to be a better teacher and keep going learning this amazing instrument! Bravo!!!!!!
I wish Barry’s video had been around when I first started on this style many years ago. I’m sure I would not have developed some of the bad habits in my playing that are now too hard to break. Thanks for viewing this great introductory lesson.
